During our 10-day stay at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the improvements at the Grand Avenue Pub and Grill. The food quality has significantly increased under the new chef, and we thoroughly enjoyed the diverse menu options at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The service staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience a delightful one.

Both restaurants in the Mead Inn & Conference Center have high prices, aspirations and pretentions. Unfortunately, they have low quality food and service. It's the ultimate lose-lose situation, and why I would advise ANYONE considering a trip there to eat to reconsider.
I ordered a steak well done the other evening, and was subsequently treated to a mess far more bloody than my wife's medium. I tend to believe it was the server's error, as when called on the issue she mumble, "oh yeah....that's right" before showing the inedible portion to the incompetent in the kitchen.
The Long Island iced tea served was equally horrible, and at the prices they gouge you with you're much better off if you know of a well run chain restaurant.
Their Sunday "champagne brunch" has been equally underwhelming the last several times I've been there. I find at least in that scenario you have a little less room to complain, as it's buffet style and you can usually scrounge up a decent plate.
In closing, unless you value pretention and high price over substance and quality avoid the Mead's restaurants like the plague!
