Driving down a snowy highway, we turned around on a whim and found ourselves welcomed by warm smiles and the comforting aroma of made-to-order meals. The onion rings held their crispy promise, the potato soup soothed the chill, and every bite-from the prime rib sandwich to the pulled pork on a pretzel bun-was a flavorful surprise in this quiet town.
