I've loved going to Bethesda Crab House since I was a kid. The place isn't pretty, but that's not it's aim. It's an informal family dinning place. Their Alaskan crab legs aren't the best, but it's not what you go there for anyways. The blue crab there is the best unless you go to down to the Chesapeake Bay. The price is a more than you'd want to spend on every meal, but if you want to have a great time hanging out with your buddies, drinking beer and watching the game, then this is the place to go.

I was expecting better service, and better food after reading earlier reviews. Alaskan crab legs weren't as good as I have had before from somehere else and bit pricey too. Atmosphere was lively and good for a family or friends who enjoy eating crabs.

Bethesda Crab House is a bar that serves Old Bay seasoning over blue crab and big boiled shrimp. Alaska King Crab, Snow crab and crab cake are available with a limited selection of side dishes fresh corn and cole slaw. The atmosphere is that of a run down road house. In warm months, tables are served outside. In either case, paper is laid down and shells are discarded in piles to the accompaniment of wine and beer. Sports is on the TV.
Prices are high. One pound of shrimp, $20. King crab $29
All you can eat blue crab, $45-60 depending on size.
