My wife and I live two and a half blocks from Jacob's coffee house. We went several times after it first opened. I would say it was then just okay. Sometime ago (a year or so?) it changed ownership. The new owners have turned what was a so-so coffee house into one of the best on the hill. The facility is always very clean and neat. There is seating both inside and outside the and,l of course, free WiFi and a good supply of the latest Hill Rags. The coffee is very good and the sandwiches are outstanding do in part to very fresh ingredients and the skill of the young man that assembles the sandwiches. If one spends six or seven dollars on five different occasions then one earns a free bagel. We always chose an "everything bagel" which they slather with cream cheese--yum! Everyone is friendly (staff and customers). Young children and infants are welcome and appropriately fused over. It is a neighborhood jewel.

I live right around the corner and come here almost every day...the coffee and the service is excellent. On warm days, you can sit outside on a large patio. Most of the food is good, except they don't give you alot of chips with your sandwiches. The coffee, especially the iced coffee and the hazelnut, blows away starbucks or dunkin donuts, who dominated the Hill coffee scene. The place seems to be run by a family and friends and they are the nicest, and hardest working, folks.

Jacob's holds the market on coffee shops in the area by default. The closest one is another mile away. The bagels always have only the slightest smidgen of cream cheese. I even paid more to have "extra cream cheese" and was still given only light pasting. The coffee is good. The espresso drinks are watered down and they nickel and dime you for anything "extra". I paid $7.12 for a small vanilla late and a bagel with cream cheese. Hefty price for breakfast at a coffee shop nestled in a DC neighborhood if you ask me.

I love cozy coffeehouse! Jacob's Coffeehouse is it! I have been looking for Bubble Tea (a.k.a. Pearl Tea, Tapioca and Boba) in this neighbor and was thrilled to learn that they serve it in variety flavor. My favorite flavor is watermelon. They are so friendly and accessible - they have paper pad and pen ready for Deaf customers to write down their orders. Both TV are open-captioned. If one is unprepared, there are magazines and novels available until one's date shows up. Longer hours is definitely a bonus. Food and drinks are good.

The only coffee shop around. Foods got really better and owners and employs are friendly. Good services and coffees.

Jacob's is far and away the best place to get coffee in the area. The interior is pleasant and friendly, making it a good place to work on a laptop or socialize. There's free wireless internet access. The sandwiches are a little expensive, but the coffee and bagels are normally priced. Fine selection of cakes and muffins.

There's not a lot of room to sit and the tables are small. There are only two sizes of coffee, 20oz and 12oz. Why not a 16. Strange.

Altogether, a great little coffee shop.

Jacob's has recently reopened under new management (hadn't been open for very long before that) and now has longer hours. The espresso drinks are well made. Haven't tried the food other than a donut here and bagel there. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy. Always appears clean and tidy. It's very pleasant to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood!
