I worked here a few summers ago while interning in D.C. This is a great place with great ice cream and a lot of history in the GWU/Foggy Bottom neighborhood. The manager/owner "June" was always extremely nice to me and the kids who worked there. I remember seeing some articles framed upstairs--I think it was rather famous in the late 80's. At that time, I think the area was less developed and actually still a part of Georgetown. Today, you can usually see George Washington University students lining up without question. They also have low fat/low calorie favors, coffee, smoothies, malts, etc. I have to admit though, the prices are high even for Washington D.C.
I might be confused on the name - but there's also a DREAM BAR or some kind of brownie - and folks, it's to die for, it's a must. One customer even took pictures of the store and took a batch to send to a friend who had moved away. Located at the shops of 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, Cone-e-island is truely a place of good memories, top ice cream and a lot of loyal customers.
