omg! had the best food i have had in years! i had shrimp and grits, and my husband got a ny strip.

the ambiance of the place was perfect. music may have been a tad on the loud side for the mood, but it was appropriate music - very swanky/jazzy. we sat right in front of the fire, and that was perfect. the decor in the place is incredible and well chosen - impressed! love the colors.

i started with a mojito and was not happy. i sent it back. it was so strong that i almost fell off my chair. i got a margarita instead, and it was good. the only odd thing was that the waiter said by 'KY Law' they could not comp drinks. not sure what that meant, but it was not drinkable, and i did not intend to pay for it. i was not asking for free drinks or anything really but a drink i could enjoy.

the meal: i am still in heaven. whoever made the menu and is cooking - ROCKS! my shrimp were large, juicy, and incredible!! it came with grits which i am not a huge fan of, but they were good too. it also came with some surprising vegetable medley that was out of this world - something you will eat all of :)

my husband had a ny strip, and sadly, it was over cooked. that bites! it was not too far off, but it bothered him a little. he ordered med-rare, and it was most definitely a strong medium and on its was to med-well. he still enjoyed it and did not complain. we were trying to enjoy our time out and alone.

the salads before the meal were great too. i think we both had balsamic vinaigrette. they were just perfect. there was a quaint little bread basket too, and it was just right.

all in all i say 4 stars and with potential.

what i did not see was a manager making rounds, and i think that is not good. managers should always be checking around making sure things are just right and rectifying anything that is not.

our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable but a tad odd - not that that really matters. it was all good.

we will go back to try other dishes and will recommend this new establishment to others. it is not cheap there, so be prepared to fork it out.
