I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone again. A frequent patron of Mexican restaurants, I have regularly substituted grilled chicken for shredded chicken. Even at this location, I have never been charged an upcharge for the substitution. I ordered the nachos with sour cream. Menu says chips, cheese and choice of meat (shredded chicken, steak or mixture). I ordered with grilled chicken, add sour cream, understanding I would be charged for the additional sour cream. When my order came out, it was fajita nachos (same as above, plus tomatoes, onions, and peppers). I sent it back as it wasn't what I ordered. They corrected it. Then comes the check. I was charged for fajita nachos, a price difference of $4! I asked the server and he said that's what you ordered. We argued and I asked for the manager. Manager continues to defend that was what I ordered because "his system doesn't have a grilled chicken nachos". Anyone who has ever run a business knows the business enters in what the system charges. Instead of take any portion of responsibility, he just kept putting it back on me. It wasn't the server's fault for not telling me it would have to be rang up as nachos fajita. It wasn't their fault for not having the option programmed in their system. It was all my fault for ordering grilled chicken 🤦🏻‍♀️. I will accept I didn't see grilled chicken under nachos, but I assumed, as every other place I've ever been has never done an unauthorized upcharge, that chicken costs the same whether it is grilled or shredded.
So, needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant. The manager made it seem they have plenty of customers that me not returning isn't an issue. Mediocre service, mediocre food, and now horrible customer experience. What is there to love about this restaurant?

We haven't eaten here for a few years (live out of state). Used to really like it, but was extremely disappointed this time. Our meals were bland and definitely not as good as they used to be.

We have been eating at Iguana Azul for about 10 years, in all those years we have always had great food and service until today.
Upon ordering Nachos Santa Fe, I asked for extra cheese and extra white cheese sauce. The waiter left the table and came back a moment later with a very small disposable cup that held less than two tablespoons of shredded cheese. I thought maybe he didn't understand my order so I asked someone if he understood, this person walked into the kitchen and a few moments later our waiter came back out and rudely stated that he spoke perfect english and if I needed something that I was to ask him, not someone else, upon which he abruptly left the table and went back into the kitchen and could be heard stating that I was a pendaja. (Not sure I spelled it right)
When I asked for the owners name at the front desk I was given his name but then our waiter walked up and said no we could not have his contact info and told us to have a nice day.
This young man has been working there a long time and we have never EVER been treated so rudely, let alone being charged for extra cheese that we didn't get because he took it back in the kitchen and there was next to no cheese on the nachos itself. We're very disappointed and have started hearing that we are not the only people that this has happened to.
