The food at Drake's was delicious and worth the visit despite some staffing challenges. Supporting a local establishment owned by friendly people was a positive experience. The memorable meals, friendly service, and reasonable prices make it a place I would happily return to.

Used to be a good place to eat. I dined there last month with 5 other family members. I had the baby back ribs. While previous times of ordering the ribs they were falling off the bone tender. That time however they were very dry and over cooked. I thought ok, one bad experience doesn’t make a restaurant bad. Tonight my wife and I ate there again. This time I ordered the 14 ounce strip. It was cook exactly as ordered. Unfortunately it was so tough, gristley, and chewy it was mostly inedible. Since this was the second bad experience in a row this time I decided I should tell our waitress since all but a couple of bites were still on my plate. Chewed on but back on the plate. I really expected they would offer some sort of compensation or partial refund. Unfortunately I was told that a strip steak is expected to be chewy. Now I’m 61 years old and have eaten MANY strip steaks. Not all were excellent but I DO however know what a strip steak is supposed to be like. Your supposed to be able to chew and swallow at least 75% to 80% of it. This one I didn’t actually eat even 10%. I’ll never be able to recommend Drakes Steak and Ale to anyone ever. Not so much because of two bad experiences in a row but because of their absolute refusal to take responsibility for it.
