While passing through Salem, Oregon, I discovered a cozy tienda with a kitchen in the back that serves some of the most flavorful carnitas I've ever tasted-juicy, tender, with just the right amount of crisp edges. The fresh meats, handmade tortillas, and delicious salsas made for an unforgettable taco night, and the friendly staff added to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the savory dishes, their bakery offers raised donuts that are thick, soft, and irresistibly gooey, making each bite a perfect sweet ending.

Driving through Salem, I discovered a fantastic spot for carnitas that transported me back to my hometown flavors. The friendly staff let me sample the food, and everything we tried-from the juicy carnitas to the homemade tortillas-was simply outstanding; I can't wait to return for more.
