Driving through rural Alabama on a rainy Sunday, I found a buffet loaded with juicy fried chicken, fresh veggies, and mouthwatering lemon pie that truly hit the spot. The friendly folks working there made the experience even better, with attentive service and fair prices that make you feel right at home. Though it's a bit off the beaten track, when passing through, stopping here for some genuine southern home cooking is definitely worth the detour.

The buffet selection featured a variety of southern comfort foods like fried chicken, fresh veggies, and delectable lemon pie slices. Despite its remote location in Highland Home, AL, the welcoming atmosphere and reasonable prices make it worth a visit if you find yourself nearby.

Food and service declined immensely after the fire. The Seafood Buffet(?) on weekends serves overcooked catfish(Swai from Africa possibly), some kind of baked fish swirling in grease and bait shrimp. We were even charged for water when I swapped my water with my husband's tea which was free with his meal! Never been back and that goes for his other greasy spoon in Ft. Deposit too.

Looked forward to the sea food buffet but all they had was fried shrimp and catfish and some kind of baked fish.From now on I'll go to "The Fantail" for a true seafood buffet.My husband and I were real disappointed.A total waste of time and money!
