Ate at troy location. The sauce was terrible. Watery and didn't even taste like bbq sauce. Worst sauce ever. Ruined the whole meal.

I have eaten at Hook's in Luverne, Alabama on many occasions. The food is great, the service is great. The entire staff sure represents the "Friendliest City in the South" very well. I would highly encourage anyone traveling Hwy. 331 to stop into Hook's anytime of the day for an excellent meal. Breakfast is great and the Barbecue is even better.

We live near this Hooks restaurant, and eat there regularly. The barbecue pork and chicken are always good. They have 3 sauces -the mild and hot, which are your regular choices at a BBQ joint, and a nice sauce they call sweet- it's got a little bite to it, but ends on a very rich note.
The barbecue baked potatoes are also good; once or twice we've had one that wasn't completely done, but they are very big, and loaded with meat, sauce, cheese and sour cream on the side, if you'd like it. I usually eat half for supper and save the rest for the next day's lunch.
The ribs are out of this world, cooked to perfection...
They have a dinner special that offers meat, ribs and chicken and sides for about $14, which is more than enough for two folks.
Other offerings are burgers, sweet potato fries, potato salad, slaw and pound cake.
If you're ready for some good 'cue, try Hook's in Luverne!
