The BEST I ever had. The atmosphere & service is excellent. I choice the gumbo topped with shrimp, crabmeat &my crawfish tails. The only problem was parking. I'll will be back, it's worth the 3 hour drive!!! Keep up the GREAT work & see y'all soon.

The Gumbo was good (not terrific), but the service was among the worst I've seen. It took 10 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink and there were only two other tables being served! We were never offered a refill, even with the owner sitting 5 feet away... very aware that there were only 12 people dining at two different tables (unsatisfactory!)

If you are looking for a good gumbo and are accepting of extremely poor service and hospitality, then this place should work out fine for you. I for one just ate there for my first and last time.

Enjoy

Absolutely the worst. I enjoy nothing more than eating lukewarm gruel being passed of as gumbo in a paper bowl with half cooked rice, and paying $8 for it. Total rip off. Actually, I think that my wife enjoyed the burnt sausage in the soggy disintegrating bun even more for $7.

This is a local hangout if I ever saw one! The food is great. We ordered gumbo with shrimp and the smothered turkey sandwich and both were really excellent. The decor is kind of shabby with mismatched tables and chairs but somehow it works. The night we were there, they had a very good singer/songwriter on stage (Andrew Duhom) and the place was pretty packed. Everyone seemed to know everyone but they were very friendly to us too. It you're ever in Fairhope, I highly recommend this place.
