I have eaten catfish all my life and know a good catfish taste. I stopped and got a catfish plate and when I tasted it, I just threw it out. Fish was cooked in oil that was at least a few days old. Really bad tasting. Fish had a very muddy taste which only told me that who filleted the fish did not know how to remove. Another thing is the best fish is cooked in peanut oil. There is a wonderful fish place in Manchester, Ga.

We often camp at R. Schaefer Heard by the lake, and I always make sure to swing by the Chicken Stop for their whole catfish and chicken tender plate. The chicken is incredibly tender and comes with creamy coleslaw and fries, plus their rooster sauce is a must-try. The friendly staff and small-town vibe keep me coming back, and if you get there early, you might just score some homemade dessert!

Got fish fillets the other day was very, very, good. Would have rated 5 Stars. Got some more today hush puppies was almost burnt and fish was very hard. Don't want any more any time soon.

I had a friend visiting me from Connecticut. Apparently, catfish is not big up there. Well, my girlfriend Rebecca tried it and was blown away. She wishes she could move here to she could visit the chicken shop all the time. We didn't eat the chicken when she was here but it is pretty good too.

Food is great the only problem that I have with the place would be the tables are sticky and feel awful nasty.

Food is good, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous!!! If your paying for more than one person, then expect to pay no less than $20. No matter what you get!
