I enjoyed the food and service at this dog-friendly establishment during our stop on the way back to FL. The grilled oysters and stuffed shrimp were particularly delicious, and the atmosphere by the water was lovely. However, the loud volume of the live band was a bit overwhelming, but adjusting it would greatly enhance the overall dining experience.

My husband and I eat here often and enjoy it - although the bathrooms are always nasty. The food is always good - service good. But today the flies were horrible! We can't go back until something is done about this. The music was annoying, also. I had grilled catfish and it was great! I hope they can clean all this up - we enjoy pulling up on our boat.

While the River Shack is a great location, their menu could use some help. I was served some of the worst gumbo I have ever had, it was a crime to call it "seafood gumbo." Equally as bad were the "seafood nachos," I would be ashamed as a cook to serve them.
Now having bashed River Shack, I will also applaud them for their Po-Boys and Burgers, reasonably priced and very good.
We mostly go there for the atmosphere, being right on the river and such, and enjoy this very much.

Eveytime We have gone to the "River Shack" we have always had a good time! The Food is Fantastic! They have pretty reasonable prices on there drinks, and the staff well that's my favortie part; they are super friendly and seem to always know what you need, and when to give it to you!! We will be there again,and again, and again!!!
