Cantonese cuisine is rare in Vallejo since many restaurants focus on Mandarin dishes, but Kwongnan stands out by offering freshly made pot stickers and a variety of flavorful, hot dishes that meet my expectations. Although the ambiance and service can be inconsistent, the quality and taste of the food keep me coming back, especially for favorites like honey walnut shrimp and chow fun.

I have found it challenging to locate authentic Cantonese cuisine in Vallejo, given the prevalence of Mandarin dishes at many restaurants. Following a change in ownership at Combo Express, the quality of their pot stickers has declined, as they are now store-bought rather than handmade. Despite the distance from Glen Cove, Kwongnan proved to be a pleasant surprise with their Cantonese offerings, including handcrafted pot stickers and flavorful combination dinners.
