Kasper's has been a beloved fixture in Oakland for decades, known for its simple menu of classic Chicago-style hot dogs made from 100% beef, fresh toppings, chips, and signature orange fizz. The atmosphere remains unchanged since the 60s or 70s, staffed by friendly, no-nonsense ladies who remember their regulars and serve a diverse crowd of locals. Despite the closures of some locations, Kasper's continues to draw loyal fans who appreciate its nostalgic charm, affordable prices, and consistently delicious hot dogs.

I have always been pleased with the food at this long-standing local favorite that has garnered a loyal following over the years. Bringing out-of-town visitors here has become a tradition, as they often request to return on subsequent visits. The nostalgia of Kasper's, with its unchanged decor and simple menu of delicious hot dogs and classic toppings, never fails to transport me back to simpler times and childhood memories.
