From childhood visits with my parents during their "mah jong" breaks, I've grown to adore the authentic homemade Taiwanese food that has stood the test of time in LA, despite the relentless march of globalization. Lee's Garden remains a nostalgic treasure, serving up delicious, reasonably priced dishes like stinky tofu and pork chop rice that transport you straight back to Taiwan, all while keeping things refreshingly simple and cash-only.
