My husband and I were at Sherman's deli in palm desert for breakfast. My husband ordered the nova, scramble eggs with potates. When our older came he found that his meal had no nova and very little eggs. It was literally a plate of potatos! We are loyal customers of the deli but our experience yesterday left us literally with a bad taste in our mouth and queasy the rest of the day.

Luck was on our side when we skipped the usual wait and dived straight into a Reuben sandwich that was pure sandwich perfection-grilled rye, just the right amount of pastrami, and fries that begged for a second helping. The vibe is vintage cool, with waitresses rocking classic uniforms and an atmosphere that feels like a fun nod to deli legends, while the dessert case practically screams, "Save some room!" After tasting the coconut cream pie with its flaky, buttery crust and the legendary cheesecake that's creamy enough to make any cheesecake aficionado swoon, I'm already plotting my next visit.
