Barbara provided attentive and friendly service, ensuring our orders were prepared just as requested. The classic diner ambiance, complete with tin ceilings and an open kitchen, offered a nostalgic and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy a diverse menu featuring traditional diner dishes. Conveniently located and open around the clock, it proved to be a reliable option for a satisfying meal during my trip.

The food was very good; hot & fresh. It just took FOREVER to get it!! I don't know why, because it wasn't crowded at all!! Nice atmosphere; like an old fashioned soda fountain. Hence the 3 star rating.

Well I thought I was new this little town of dunsmuir so I thought I would try penny's diner so I drove up I walked in and sat down I had to wait 30 mins order and the entire time I did not see the cook wash his hands his hands were on his pants and while I was waiting 20 mins he was in the back little room talking on his phone he really had a threatening look and feel to him I will never go there again as long as he working I cant believe such a beautiful location had such a threatening presence well I wont ever go back I guess I will find a new place to go to eat

I have been in the food business for many years,on my way up to Portland I stopped off in Dunsmuir and a little 50's diner called Penny's.
My advice to you folks reading this -find it ,go,order and enjoy a great burger,really I mean a good old fashion burger the way they used to taste. I stop in there all the time now when I travel that way. Also the Milkshakes, and Macaroni and cheese are drop dead good!!!!!!!!!!!
