Having spent considerable time in Kansas City, I found the barbecue here to be very satisfying, with ribs, brisket, and sides all prepared to a solid standard, and the smoked dry-rubbed wings ranking among the best I've had. The milkshake flavor of the month changes based on when the previous special ice cream runs out, so arriving on the first of the month might mean the flavor hasn't switched yet. During multiple visits to Aspen, the food consistently impressed me-from generous pork dinners and excellent ribs to hearty breakfast options like huevos rancheros and Western omelets-paired with friendly service and a lively atmosphere.
