Stopped through a town I hadn’t even heard of to pull over to try to book a hotel on my phone…happened to be passing Sonic and decided to pull over to get some food while we looked up hotels up north…this proved to be the most costly choice of our road trip! I used to love Sonic slushies when I was younger and thought, “why not?” We went to the drive-thru window, ordered food (pretty normal for a fast food place) , but for some reason, the girl gave us our food before she gave my card back…acting a little off, didn’t think much of it at the time, BUT a couple days later my card was turned off for fraudulent activity (after a $520.49 charge to ‘The city of La Junta’ had been processed with numerous other fraudulent charges flagged) The only place we stopped in that town was Sonic…We were traveling from California to Missouri to see my mom who hadn’t been doing well, so this was more than unpleasant to find out. I have since called the complaint line so many times over the last month and have been promised a call back (which has yet to happen!) I can’t even look at a Sonic sign now without crying! This has been THE worst drive-thru experience of my life/worst time trying to speak to someone who cares enough to do something to make this remotely “right”. I could go on and on about all of the problems this has since caused, but bottom line…VERY displeased to say the least!
