Located on the north side of a liquor store, Camargo Tamales Restaurant in Denver serves up nostalgic and reliable DenMex fare with a straightforward and legit approach that appeals to locals and represents the city's old-school culinary charm.

Go somewhere else. This place is trash now. The service sucks and the food is no better. Spoke to a "manager" who confirmed that a 5$ burrito becomes a $12.5 burrito if you want lettuce and tomato. WHO DOES THAT?!? A Chili Relleno burrito with lettuce, tomato, cheese now $12.50?!?! and then if you want a small scoop of rice and beans that will cost you $4.50 each (at the time of this edit anyway) for a combined total of $21 for something you can get almost ANYWHERE else for $10!! The food was barely lukewarm, the cheese in the Relleno's was not even melted. My tamale was bland, falling apart dry and ICE COLD. Oh I should mention the beans were canned!! I have enough over the years to tell the difference. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I would give it no stars if I could. 75$ for 3 burritos with rice beans... Whatever, I've been coming here for 20 years and have never been treated or taken this way...
