Driving by this small family-run Mexican restaurant many times, I finally stopped and was blown away by the authentic flavors that make you feel like you're being cooked for in someone's kitchen. The reasonably priced menu features delicious dishes like chili rellenos, smothered burritos, and homemade tamales, all served quickly with friendly service and a cool patio perfect for evening people-watching.

The authentic Mexican flavors at this family-run spot are unbeatable; it feels like you're in a loved one's kitchen. Reasonably priced with delicious food, it's a must-visit for anyone craving tasty Mexican cuisine.

Just plain awful. Our experience started with a basket of stale chips and watery salsa. I noticed on the menu that the first basket is free, subsequent chips are $2.95. Don't have to worry about that. Service was lethargic and disinterested. I ordered the "Westword Best of Denver" Tamale plate. Then we wait and wait and wait. I get through two flat Dos Equis and when the waiter asks me if I want a third beer, I say no I would like to get my food. When the Tamale plate arrives, the tamales are so hard I can't cut them with a knife - they are literally like dried up sticks of wood. I send them back, the waiter doesn't argue or apologize. I ask for the check and the waiter tells me that I won't be charged for the Tamale plate. Well, that's good, because I had absolutely no intention of paying for them anyway. There are some great Mexican restaurants in Denver, this place is hands down the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Skip it.
