The casual atmosphere and attentive staff create a welcoming experience that makes dining enjoyable. The Marsala sauce is among the best I've ever tasted, and the pizza is fresh and generously sized-definitely a crowd-pleaser. With reasonable prices and great portions, this family-owned Italian restaurant has become my favorite destination for delicious meals whenever I'm in the area.

The first thing I do when I land in Hartford from Miami is order a mussels fra Diavalo from Mario's. Always good...for years. However, the last two times, the latest this past Friday, was tasteless. Like unseasoned, raw tomato. No heat either. Mussels stuck to the shells too. Same tasteless sauce on their Cioppino. So I tried Nino's fra Diavalo. Fantastic! Sadly, no more Mario's. Vinnie's/ Dominic's pizza.

Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the rustic chicken sandwich. Flavor wise they were good but, the chicken was sliced so thin with only one slice that barely covered 2/3 of the roll. Do they really have to be so skimpy with the chicken? Don't think we got our monies worth.

Called in a large pizza for takeout. Cheese and sausage. The girl said " that'll be $25.18" I almost dropped dead! It's like a downpayment on a house for crying out loud. I should have refused but I had hungry kids waiting. I've never paid more than $15 or maybe $16 for a large pie! This one was undersized to the box too! Don't go to Mario's! They're thieves!
