Food was great. Table service was very good. Management needs to consider a new line of work that doesn't include customer contact.
Dined at River Street last Saturday evening. Party of 6, including guests from Europe that we see 1-2 times per year. After dinner, and settling the check with a 20+% tip, we were finishing up the wine in our glasses and enjoying the company of friends. It's 8:45PM and the restaurant is nearly empty when the busboy, who is also the owner's son, retrieves the water pitcher and announces to our table that we have exceeded the two hour limit for the table. First, we had 7:00 reservations and had not exceeded the 2 hr limit. Two, we were not taking a table from other patrons. Three, the stated hours are 5:00-9:30.
When questioned whether this was the right way to treat repeat customers, who often recommend this restaurant to others, the chef/owner gave us, "yeah, what's your problem" with the son yapping in the background "Good Bye", "Have a nice night" and, "See you later" repeatedly while dismissively waving us off.
If this is what you expect from your restaurant experience, I encourage you to eat here, otherwise stay away
