I have been going to plain Janes since it opened in the 70's and knew original owner Jane R.My last visit 7/17/2014 I received my hamburger with about 6 broken potato chips on the plate. As that is what comes with most lunches. While the chips have never been overly generous this was ridiculous. I asked the waitress to please add some. She did. When I got the bill a dollar was added on for additional chips. I complained and was told if I asked for more fries they would add it also. This will be the last time I visit plain Janes and I will tell all my friends of my experience. I asked to speak to the owner and was told he was on the roof. I saw one of the owners in the kitchen and was told he was not the owner. Too bad one dollar was so important to them.
