I work in the business park by Bob's and I have been a customer for years. Sad to say, today was the last straw and I'm never giving Bob (the owner) another nickel of my hard earned money. First off, I'd like to say that the staff there is great. The fella there that I call "Doc" is awesome. Great cook, great personality and he takes good care of his customers. The issue is Bob. Over the past few years, it seems that he has lost touch. 9 out of every 10 orders that he makes for you are botched. You'll call in to place an order and you can tell he's writing down everything you asked for. The second you walk in to pick it up, he's asking you for clarification because he wasn't sure about something and you're left standing there (10 mins after you ordered) while he begins cooking. When I say he botches the orders, what I mean is you order a sausage egg and cheese on a bagel and he forgets to put sausage on it. Or you ask for chips and a pickel and you end up with french fries. Simple fixes but I am not exaggerating...it is 9 out of 10 orders that are screwed up (again, the staff is great and get it right all the time but the guy whose name is on the marquee drops the ball all the time). Bob also like to change the prices of every order. I typically get breakfast at Bobs and I order the SAME sandwich all the time...and have been doing so for years. Each time Bob rings me up the price changes. He also doesn't seem to have his head on straight with whats on his board and what he charges. Take for example a Philly CHEESE steak that I bought a while back. On the board it's 5.25. Bob rang me up at 5.25, then added .35 and then the tax. I asked what the .35 was for and he said "cheese." Last time I checked, cheese was included in a Philly CHEESE steak. So for 5.25 should I not be getting a steak sandwich with cheese on it as presented on his board? When questioned about it he matter of factly said "no no no you always have to pay extra for the cheese" to which I replied "maybe you should change up the board then to read 'steak sandwich: 5.25 (with cheese: 5.60). Today was the last straw though. I placed an order over the phone for the same sandwhich that I do every morning I visit. You could again tell he wrote it down. When I walked in...he again asked me to confirm the order and then began cooking it. The he rang me up at a dollar more than normal. I immediately questioned it and he gave me 3 excuses. 1) the meat I chose is more expensive than others (hmmm...ham has never been more expensive than sausage or bacon ever before) When I balked at that excuse 2) I charged you for an omlette, an omlettes costs x amount (I didn't order an omlette...i ordered ham and egg whites on a plain bagel toasted with peppers. No cheese.)When I came back with "I ordered a sandwhich not an omlette" I got excuse 3) Well, I put extra ham on it (no one asked for extra ham, Bob). I ended up paying for my sandwhich at the inflated price (hind sight 20/20 I should have just left but I was really hungry and in a rush. Got to my office, opened my box....sandwich was wrong. He actually did make an omlette which he placed on a grilled bagel dripping with butter versus the toasted bagel I had asked for. I'll be sure to stop in and thank the rest of the staff for thier great service over the years but I will never spend another nickel there again.
