After a less-than-warm welcome at our first stop, my girlfriend and I decided to leave and were thrilled to discover the Monkey Bar. The bartenders exuded friendliness, and the atmosphere was lively, creating a great backdrop for our meal. Each dish, from the mango tuna tartar to the lobster corn chowder, was not only delicious but beautifully presented, making it a place I would eagerly return to for both lunch and dinner.

Stumbled on this restaurant while visiting my son at Amherst College from Manhattan. My husband and I were amazed at the superior quality, value, presentation, service and overall experience at this gem of a place. They squeezed us in on a Friday, the server suggested the seafood pescatore and surf and turf...Delicately done and hearty! Amherst is pretty lucky to have such a restaurant which could easily rival any in Manhattan. Wish they were in NYC.
