Playa Azul is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. It has a warm, relaxed atmosphere with some of the best Mexican seafood in town. The new Happy Hour has a huge selection of margaritas with delicious tapas-style food.

This place has the best halibut tacos on earth. I can't wait to try the margaritas! The patio is so relaxing-so very Santa Barbara. Service is excellent and it is a very good value. Great to take out of towners, too.

La Playa Azul's Crab Tostada is, without question, the BEST crab salad I have ever eaten. We're talking serious crab salad here, with the perfect ratio of lettuce and other goodies to REAL crab. When I get crab in every bite of salad, I am a truly happy camper, and this is it! The staff is efficient, courteous and friendly and the patio on almost any day in Santa Barbara is divine.

One of the few places where you can get awesome food and a great margarita. Many healthy offerings and they do not slather everything in tons of cheese. The service is very friendly and attentive. I love this place and hope to enjoy it for a long time.

I stumbled upon this place and ate on the patio. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. Usually Mexican food is over cooked beans and dried out rice smothered in cheese which I can't stand. But the menu here has a more coastal Mexican flair to it. They offer dishes done Veracruz style and they even offer a fish done in a tomatillo sauce. The chips are warm when they serve them and the salsa is just as good as my Guatemalan grandma's salsa. The food is very reasonable and I hope to keep this place one my best kept secrets.
