So sorry to find it closed. I'm from the area and love Calabash style seafood. We've always enjoyed eating there. Large portions. We always have left overs even with senior portions. Good place to bring a family group. Service is always good. It's usually busy when we eat there.

We have eaten there about 10 times since they moved to their new location. The food has ALWAYS been good and the wait staff extremely cordial and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone loving Calabash Style seafood. It's the real deal.

I'm stunned at the poor reviews posted here. I've eaten seafood up and down the Pacific Coast for years, and this was hands-down the best I've ever eaten for a fried seafood meal. I had scallops, oysters, flounder, and deviled crab, and it was all superb. The hush puppies made me a convert, and the sweet potato side dish made me swoon. It's a family-style restaurant, so don't go for atmosphere, but the food was perfect and the service was unbeatable.

Had lunch today and we were very dissatisfied with the shrimp and scallops, almost raw. The scallops were even milky. When checking out the cashier asked if everything was alright and we replied not very good, but she didn't ask what was wrong.

The last time I went to the old restaurant I swore I'd never visit Jones again. I tried the new location after it had been open awhile after hearing positive comments. They did something right when they moved because I was very pleased with what I found. I've loved fried seafood for decades and this was some of the best I can remember. Been back several times since and found the same. My wife, and friends agree. Scallops like they used to be, and food generally less greasy than most.

this restaurant has moved up the street, but not gastronomically.

went tonight and got two senior seafood plates.
hush puppies not very good, plates came and my wife got 2 raw baked potatoes. supposed to get oysters and flounder, but half the oysters were scallops and the fish was undercooked. my ffries weren't very good either.
slaw was good. tarter sauce inedible. no supervisors in the restaurant as far as we could tell. give this one a pass.

Food enjoyment is inversely proportional to the atmosphere. In other words, great Calabash style ( fried with hush puppies)...0 atmosphere.
But hurry, because after 30 years they will close at the end of July 2008.
All good things come to an end.

A traditional Calabash style seafood restaurant. Fried seafood was perfect, I had a lunch special (7.95) which was enough especially if you eat their great hush puppies. Do not go for fancy seafood--this is not it. Typical Calabash decor, nothing fancy. The food was not greasy and not heavily breaded. I'm a native North Carolinian and know this style of food. My wife is from Chicago and she liked it too.

Horrible food and service. The worst seafood I've ever had in fact. Try to avoid.
