I've eaten at Chengdu several times in the past years and the food is consistently excellent as well as the service. I only wish the restaurant was closer to where I live so I could eat there more often!

I don't know about the comments below but the service has been wonderful every time I go to Cheng Du. The food is excellent, and it usually has a good atmosphere for a date, a family meeting, or even a business lunch.
I have to say I agree about it being the best chinese in Connecticut.

By far the best chinese place in West Hartford, if not CT. I always get the hunan chicken, fried rice, and hot & sour soup. I am always impressed.There is a major, major difference between the dishes here and the other take out places in the area (this place is a million times better). The lunch special is great too!

Hands down the best Chinese food in Connecticut.Try the Rock n Roll Beef.It does rock.

A friend ordered duck. I ordered a hot chicken dish. Both were more than adequate.
The place was half empty, and I wondered why.
Then I asked for more tea. Waitress brought me more tea. Stone cold. I turned around to ask for more and watched two waitresses standing there, laughing in my direction.
I then signaled to them that I wanted more tea. Hot this time. She brought the new hot tea. but left the old stone cold cup on the table. This is service? Then they brought the check half way through our meal when we were not done. I did not feel either welcome or well served at this place and would not go there again.
I don't need sullen waitresses.

Totally consistent product: excellent Chinese food. Not greasy. Not boring. Try the ginger beef. Just fabulous.

The Food is out of this world we all know. But what I love is the prompt service. Door to Door in 35 minutes. Fast !

My husband and I started going to Chengdu when they were on Farmington Ave. We live about an hour away, so it really says something that we keep coming back. Asian food at it's best is what Chengdu offers. The value justifies the cost. The most wonderful thing about Chengdu is the location. I have favorite restaurants in many cities, including NYC, but it's nice to know at the end of the day, I only have to drive on hour for a tasty Asian meal. With "Chinese" food having become cheapened by lots of local take out joints, it's nice to know that there are still local places that stand out, offering fresh, delicious ingredients.
