Been here many times over the years but this was our last.
The new management is awful:

We were greeted promptly and appetizers came out in good condition but it was downhill from there.
Salads came out at same time as main course which was over cooked meats and partially cold. The lobster was perfect but the rest, no so much.
Quality of the beef isn’t what it used to be, they were out of prime rib (poor planning), waitress kept forgetting our drink refills and rarely came by the table... mind you, it was a Sunday night, the place was dead - maybe 2 other sets of customers in the whole place.
All severs AND the manager were chit-chatting around the bar the whole time we were there.
Serious delays in main course, drinks and sides getting to our table.
My wife almost lost her mind!
The only thing stopping her from it was my telling her that I just wanted a peaceful birthday dinner.

The place was a bad choice, so we won’t be back again.

Smelly - horrible place.
Why? Why didn’t I turn my back right away? Why?
And that horrible smell! Oh.
Waitress was ok, the bisque was louzy, the lobster was ok, the bill was good for them.

What a horrible experience.

My experience was not a pleasant one. The garlic in the item that I ordered had not been cooked completely, resulting in a burning sensation in my mouth. I asked to change my order. I was not given a menu, but ordered something my colleague was eating, who indicated it was not spicy. When the bill came, I discovered the replacement dinner cost more, and I was charged that price. Management was unwilling to negotiate the price, although it was due to their unsatisfactory preparation of the first dish that I had to change my order in the first place! VERY poor service! I will no longer patronize this restaurant!

I brought my Mom for lunch and we both ordered the hot lobster roll. It was very good and I can't wait to go back for another one. By the way - the cole slaw was excellent as well.

I called Chowder Pot IV to check on their dinner theater shows. I was switched over to the Banquet Department with a woman who thought I was interupting her day. I wanted to know if they had a list of shows that would be coming to the restaurant because I would have loved to had my husband's 70th birthday party there with a show. The woman was so rude with her remarks that I said forget it....I will go elsewhere. The just lost a party of 100 that would have brought them in $4000 plus in dollars. I think management was so much nicer 10 years ago when my daughter and I planned her wedding in the promenade room. Everything then was precise and exceptional. What's happening Chowder Pot??

Sunday 2/6/11 1:oo p.m. Six of us drove down to the chowder pot IV from Boston {one and a half hour drive}. We all ordered some form of there "Reef and Beef" entree $25.95. Mine was sirloin and stuffed sole. When the meals arrived everyone got there entrees except me. Our waitress said mine would be ready in a minute. I waited 15 minutes. No entree and the waitress never came back to explain what the holed up was. So I called her over and asked where is my food? She tried to charm her way out of a difficult situation, but at my age, 55, charm from a cute 20 yr old doesn't do it anymore. I am SO tired of poor service. I said this is unacceptable and ridiculous. She finally "got it" and said she would be right back with my dish. And I must say she was quick about it. When she returned with my dish I asked to speak with the manager. I was not impressed with her at all. She possessed NO professionalism at all. I'm not sure if she truly was the manager or just another waitress helping out a friend. I don't think I will make that trip again, after all I can get all the indifferent service I want a lot closer to home.

THE CHOWDER POT II ...it will not last long with un-cooked Seafood" If I wanted sushi I would go to a sushi Restaurant.
(So The Chowder Pot 1 building in the front closed
and opened at the Ball Room in the back as #2
Yes, that is what I rate it,,,as Number Two!!!

Other person:
I think it might have been Chowder Pot IV ... but it doesn't matter since I know neither of us want to go back there ever ever ever again. I mean really ... they didn't even have good chowder .... :)
