I ate dinner at Continental a few nights ago and couldn't believe how wonderful the meal was. I had the best linguine with clam sauce that I have ever eaten. I have been on a quest for that dish since I was in collage in Milwaukee where I thought I had the best ever. Continental won! We also shared a fantastic pizza and spedini that was perfectly prepared. My husband and I can't wait to return.

service very slow, food over priced, drinks were
a total rip off. $7.00 for about 4 oz of $8.00
per bottle Lambrusco. My steak----just O.K. My
wife did like her Spedinni but $22.00---WOW!

My wife an I went for a valentines dinner on Friday night and we figured it would be busy so we called ahead for a reservation. We had to wait 10 minutes past our reservation time. Not a big deal, but when we walked through the restaurant there was empty tables. We sat down and our server was right there. Then we had to wait another 20 mins to see her again with out drinks. Then it was another 10 mins to order our food. And we waited easily an hour to get our food. The whole time my drink was empty, she never noticed nor asked if we wanted more. The whole wait for the food excruciating especially when your server never comes withing eye sight of your table. Was she making the dinner? Our reservation was for 6:30 and we left at 8:45 and I and my wife are fast eaters! Anyway the only reason we went is because we got a $50 gift certificate as a gift from a friend. We ordered the Valentines Day specials and of course after all the crappy service they topped it. Gift Certificates aren't valid for specials. So they took all the food we wouldn't have normally ordered (salad and desert and the main dish for that matter. $29 for a 10oz tenderloin?) and added it in separately. So what we thought was going to be a $25/person meal turned into a $38/person meal. Adding $26 to our total bill. So basically we got $24 off with our $50 gift card. How awesome of them. The food was the only thing that saved the dinner because it was good. But after all that: Never going back. Not suggesting to our friends.

Very poor food. we ordered the crabcake appetizer. It had no flavor or visual evidence of crab -- merely a homogeneous orange appearance, appearing more like fried polenta instead. We ordered the Caesar Continental salads, which were a la carte, but had mediocre Caesar dressing -- no flavor except that of mayonnaise, and one or two croutons with no cheese. My husband had the Spiedini, which consisted of predominantly the bread crumb filling with very little of the advertised sirloin. It was a very disappointing and suboptimal experience. Mediocre would be a complimentary term for the quality of food we were served.

If you want good Italian food, DO NOT go to The Continental! I am 82 years old and I have to say The Continental served me one of the WORST over priced meals I have ever eaten in my life! I ordered Penne Della Nonna w/grilled sausage, the cost $13.00 w/o salad. Salads costs extra! The penne tasted old and mushy, the sausage was dry and tasted like a poor quality bratwurst.
