On Sunday, July 5th, I called in my first take-out order since the pandemic and stay-at-home mandate began. Assaggio in Hawaii Kai has long been one of our favorite local restaurants. I ordered my favorite dish: veal piccata w/veggies. When I got it home, I was touched to discover the care that had been taken in order to make it "almost as good" as if I'd dined in the restaurant itself. A slice of lemon was included for the veal; a small container of Parmesan cheese was provided for the veggies; an entire mini-loaf of their wonderful, fresh, crusty bread was included with the order--along with two pats of butter. It all tasted wonderful--after many months of salads and Lean Cuisines at home. THANK YOU, ASSAGGIO, for continuing your great tradition of good eats and attention to great service!
