Oh no you're closed! Why? You had the best food I ever tasted. I married a local & we honeymooned in Kona. He took me to all the tastes and sounds that is Hawaii with a stop for the best loco moco on the island. With me being a food snob I looked at it with apprehension until I tasted. Closed my eyes & mmmm pure heaven. Broke da mouth.
You were going to be my first stop when we come back to visit family & friends.

We stopped her for a quick bite on our trek around the Island ~ ended up spending quite a bit of time just soaking up the local flavor while the Ono(fish) that my husband had ordered was being cleaned ~ now that's fresh! I thoroughly enjoyed my Kalua Pork & Cabbage and their Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie was the perfect choice to finish our meal. It is not "fine dining".. no tablecloths or china to be found but that was exactly what we were looking for! Birds would swoop by to see if we were going to share (of course I did!)our lunch ~ part of the laid back charm of the Desert Rose Cafe :)

Ate at this rest. Roach crawling on the table. Food not so great. The service was good. Not the food or the environment is small.

I just want to say , to all of you that drive by or visit Hawaii ocean view , you will need to stop at the Desert Rose Cafe, the menu had a lot of options, from Prime rib, hamburger steak with gravy , pork ribs, Korean chicken, meat loaf, chicken katsu , I can go on...I ordered the Korean chicken with macaroni salad and white rice, it was great , very Delicious , my daughter ordered meatloaf ,and chicken katsu , with white rice and macaroni salad, it was good, we also had the dessert mango sponge cake and a chocolate moose pie plenty mahalo to the chef, and staff service was very fast and very friendly, and they had live music it was great, I cant wait to go back.
