we were on a road trip once we saw this place and decided to stop by and grab a bite, coming from DC we were looking to eat some good pizza, and thanks god we were right, I guess coming from a big city honestly say that this is one of the best pizzas we have ever ate. Prices were affordable. we got fair service (we came to eat and go) I think people around are lucky to have this place. We spent couple of weeks in JH and we drove 4 times to Alpine just to have a good Calzone and pizza. Hey Gunnar's I hope see you soon..!!!

I am not the owner, and this place serves some fantastic pizza! We've eaten there several times when going through Alpine, and the pizza and atmosphere are authentic and really good.

The food here is excellent. They offer a wide variety of pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, and wings. Friendly staff and great service.

If you see a positive review for this place, the owner probably entered it himself. This place is a complete rip off!! While visiting the area with my family, we stopped in for a pizza. We ordered a large pizza, half Hawaiian, half pepperoni. When the bill came, we were charged $50 for two pizzas. The owner's reasoning was that we got a pizza with the toppings of two pizzas. Unbelievable!!!! I hope this place goes out of business.

Horrible, horrible, horrible service. The waitress used a napkin to wipe our table that she had just used to wipe the floor. When I asked her not to, she said my baby's shoes that were sitting in the corner of the table were just as dirty. Seriously?! We will never be eating there again.

Gunnar's serves a fairly diverse menu from pizza and subs to Italian pasta dishes and hamburgers and specialty sandwiches. They have several unique dishes prepared by a master chef. Wing lovers take note - Gunnar's makes their own wing sauces from fresh ingredients - some people travel over 100 miles just for wings. The owners are wonderful people, the service is great most of the time, and the atmosphere is old west-ish.
