After losing power this afternoon, I asked my neighbor where to go for pupusas, ended up at La Pupusa Rica on South Gessner where the food was flavorful and satisfying, especially the big, cheesy pupusas, tasty fried yucca, zesty cortido, and smooth horchata, though the wait was a bit long due to the crowd and ongoing construction made parking tricky.

Earlier today, the power decided to play hide-and-seek, leaving me in the dark with a rumbling stomach. After a quick chat with my neighbor about our pupusa cravings, we ended up at La Pupusa Rica on South Gessner. The dining room was buzzing with families enjoying their Sunday tradition, as we dove into fried yucca and a plateful of pupusas con todo. The cortido stole the show with its clean and zesty flavor, while the pupusas themselves were so flavorful that the sauce remained untouched. The horchata was the perfect sweet companion to the meal, making me already plan my next visit for more of this Salvadorian goodness.
