DO NOT EVER AND I MEAN EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!! If you have time to wait (a long time), want to service yourself, and then pay them for it, only then will you come to this place. I eat at a lot of place, am a very patient person, but this place made my blood boil!!! BAD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY, BAD BAD BAD!!!

Quantity of food is unbeatable but quality of food and service is terrible. Chicken was tough & chewy. Fried whole fish was still raw inside and dripping blood on the plate. Mussels were still cold seemed like they just poured sauce over them. We ordered family meal for 4 (com phan 4 nguoi) for the 6 of us since 2 people just ate and just wanted to chat. We had a separate table for 5 kids and they ordered 3 separate dishes. On our table, 4 grown men went through 2 bowls of white rice and asked them to bring another bowl. They never did and ignored our repeated requests. Finally we asked for to-go and asked the guy why they never send out the rice. He said we ordered meal for 4 for the 6 of us but their policy is only for 2 bowls of rice. Then he said we would have to pay for the rice if we wanted it for to-go. We said we were waiting for ever, had they told us this since the beginning we would not even wait.
After my relatives (visitors from Dallas) left I went to the owner and told him he shouldn't ruin his restaurant reputation over a bowl of rice. He said had we still eating they would refill the rice but not for takeout. I said we were still eating when they ignored our request when we couldn't wait any longer we had to pack up the soup for to-go. I also told him I just paid $78 for 2 tables he didn't want to spare a bowl of rice? He said "I don't care". Well they just lost our business. The owner himself was the one ordered his waiters not to refill rice. I saw him going around collecting the tips before his waiters could clean up. Now thinking back, a meal for 4 and 3 separate dishes do not cost $78. They must have included tip in the bill so be careful. We left them $8 tips for both tables. In summary, the owner is so cheap. The food is prepared in a hurry & not fully cooked. The service is terrible due to the owner's micromanagement. I don't know what people see but the quantity of food cannot make up for all those shortfalls. The owner himself is the major problem with this restaurant.

I just ate there just this morning! I donot know who gave them *****? I know my com tam. I may not be Vietnamese, but I know what is right. Their pork chop is coloured artificially orange. They did not give me the broth that supposed to come with it. I asked the server and he assured me 5minutes, then 10min,15min,20min i finally stood up with my food barely qaurter portion touched. And I asked the lady if I can have a broth, the lady told me it's too early for them to make one. And I told her that the server said its 5min and she said No, we cant make early soup. Wait a minute, if you open at a certain time, you should be ready with whatever you said available in the menu. Do not dissatisfy your customer! The server did not even have the decency to tell me out of courtesy that they don't have the soup/broth so i won't wait and expect for frustration. Yes service was very poor or they only cater for Vietnamese folks? I am asian too and Vietnames is one of my fave breakfast food. Not just that, the broken rice did not smell fresh, it was stale. I feel so frustrated. Not just that i was starving, i wasn't expecting for a perfect food nor perfect service, just the right food with the right service. Pho Ngon restaurant right infront of them, is way a lot better than Thuan Kieu people and food. I was thinking of taking my food but because i was discouraged of what the service they rendered, I left it there. I know it's a waste...wait the bbq sauce was also no taste, just like water with vinegar. I like their salad! If you mean business guys, mean it, because I MEAN to eat GOOD food! I am really a very patient, down to earth, quiet, customer but things has it's limits. Improve your service, get fresh quality broken rice, come to restaurant early so you can server broth/soup. I know how my Com tan smells and tastes, i grew up in a rice field so there.....ok next time! if there's any.

It tooks 10min to get an order and 30 MINUTES more to get the food! What a crappy store they have in SW Houston. Do not eat there if you don't have 1 hour to wait! Service is unprofessional and messy!!!

The previous review isn't completely true because I came there to have lunch with my co-workers a couple of times already. The food is great with a decent price and they are a little bit slow during peak time. Is not 50 minutes to wait on food. I would say just 10mins. Since it's an authentic vietnamese restaurant, there is a certain food takes longer to prepare than other. Try it out.

It took 15 minutes to receive a menu, and after wards it took another 50 minutes for the food to be ready. What is the point of ordering the food when all the food you received is ALL WRONG. Also, when they run out of food they give you any food you want. VERY BAD SERVICE. Sadly, they have no manners to say "sorry". NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER EAT THERE. EVER.
