Delicious and unique cakes are offered at Caldense, including a light and fresh fruit cake filled with whipped cream, pineapple, and strawberries. The selection is wide and the prices are reasonable, comparable to pastries in Portugal but just slightly sweeter. The warm Portuguese buns are a standout, with a slightly savory crust and a soft, chewy interior that takes you back to childhood memories of freshly baked bread.
