This restaurant used to be 5 stars both for food and pies. Our evening meal at the restaurant last weekend was poor (including mediocre chicken fried chicken, lumpy mashed potatoes and meatloaf much worse than in the past.) Even more disappointing: the pies were terrible.That includes pecan and rhubarb crumble. I can get better pies at the grocery store for $5 vs $25. The pie business has been split off to another building at the same site. Seems like a good idea but it’s possible the reorganization has caused deterioration of quality. I hope they get they get their mojo back. It been a favorite destination for friends and family for over 30 years.😞 BTW the service was good and the young waitress deserves 5 stars

Rock Springs Cafe has definitely changed today I went there for their Saint Patrick's Day reuben sandwich lunch and I love their coconut cream pie coconut cream pie was the worst looking slice of pie I've ever seen even for Rock Springs Cafe I told the waitress it was really disappointing and I would not eat it so she threw it right in the garbage can in front of where I was sitting I was sitting at the counter in fact I was the only person at the counter she put my order in for my reuben sandwich around 11 a.m. on St Patrick's Day and I waited and waited and it became 11:05 then it became 11:10 then 11:15 and 11:20 I really felt ignored by this waitress she was so busy socializing with customers at other tables and other employees but I sat there totally alone and ignored at 11:20 I got up and said I was leaving and she didn't really care that I was leaving I know that but I did speak to the manager before I left the restaurant and told him what a horrible experience I had and I didn't think I'd be coming back to that place the service used to be wonderful the employees were very friendly and the pies were out of this world not so anymore

Pies are definitely not the same once homemade quality and taste. Terribly disappointed. My choice is usually the Dutch Apple which they now call apple crumb. It now taste like a can pie filling with a crumbly topping that has a salty-like taste. Definitely not the Dutch Apple once sold OMG!
