El Portrero is a favorite among locals, particularly the Mexican community, yet remains undiscovered by many outsiders. Having dined there multiple times, I have consistently been impressed by the quality of the food. It is widely regarded as one of Tucson's top Mexican dining establishments, and on certain evenings, guests can enjoy live Mariachi music as well.
