Arriving at DFW for a barbecue tour, my wife and I dined at Shady Oaks, choosing a three-meat plate with St. Louis ribs, sausage, and brisket, accompanied by sides like mac and cheese and cole slaw. The meal featured fresh hot bread and a distinctive Texas-style barbecue sauce, which elevated the overall experience despite the food being generally average. Service was friendly and efficient, and the old roadhouse atmosphere added a comfortable, homey touch to the evening.
