Spent Thanksgiving in Apalachacola fishing and tried a new restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff were wonderful. Can't wait to return on our next trip down, it was a great experience overall.

Astoundingly Unprofessional!

I paid my way through grad school serving at upscale restaurants, and am very sympathetic to the customer service challenges in the industry. However, nothing could have prepared me for the experience I had at this restaurant. I ordered a steak. When it arrived at the table, the wrong side item accompanied it. Wanting to be flexible I did not say anything about it. However, as I inspected my steak I found it was almost entirely fat. I apologized to the server and stated that I could not eat it, and requested that she remove the item from the bill. (I did not want another steak since my appetite was gone.) A few minutes later she whispers in my ear that the manager would like to see me at the kitchen doors. Shocked that the manager would ask a guest to leave the table, I almost didn’t get up. However, I went to meet her at the door. She proceeded to present me with a raw steak– a raw steak – and states verbatim: “These are the steaks we use. We disagree with you about your comment. I will not take it off your check.” There were no offers from her to prepare another steak or any other dish.

I have never been met with such unprofessional service – especially at a place that markets itself as a country club restaurant.
