After a less-than-stellar first experience, I decided to give Donna's another shot for takeout, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The $5.99 Stew Chicken special came with generous portions of peas and rice, a crisp side salad, and perfectly cooked plantains that had me dreaming of jerk gravy upgrades next time. While the pictures made me think a soda was included (spoiler: it wasn't), the friendly service and authentic flavors have me already planning my return for those Monday and Wednesday chicken specials-just steer clear of the fish, which sadly didn't live up to the hype.

Despite having a negative experience in the past, I decided to revisit Donna's for a takeout dinner tonight. I was pleasantly surprised by the enjoyable experience I had this time. The service was friendly, the portions were generous, and the special Stew Chicken meal was delicious with perfectly cooked plantains. I will definitely be returning for their chicken specials on Monday and Wednesday, as Donna's truly offers some of the best Jamaican cuisine in the area.
