I usually go there for takeout because the service is great, and it got even better as the evening went on. The tacos, especially on Taco Tuesday, are flavorful and come with tasty sides like beans and rice, plus a cool sauce bar to customize your meal. The margarita flights blew me away, and the whole vibe is super fun and dog-friendly, though I probably wouldn't bring my dog back after a weird interaction with someone trying to train her.

The takeout is always a treat, especially with such friendly service that really improves as the night goes on. I enjoyed the flavorful tacos and the fun atmosphere, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu, including great options for the kids.

Awesome food and great service

Terrible experience. We ordered enchiladas which are traditionally served as flat tortillas with cheese and sauces. Instead we got burritos. The service was terrible. When we complained about the enchiladas we were offered Margaritas. We had their watered down Margaritas before dinner and knew that their offer was worthless. El Chico is a midget when it comes to authentic Mexican food.
