Yesterday, 11/17/2016, at 5:00 PM, I called Maria's to order a 16" pizza with four extra toppings. The person Taking the order, seemed to have a hard time understanding me, although I speak perfect English. I had to keep repeating or correcting my order, phone number, address, & credit card number.
There was a tremendous amount of background noise on her end, so maybe that was the problem.
When my order was completed, I was told I couldn't pay cash, & would have to use plastic up front. Wasn't happy with that, but accepted it. I was told to expect delivery in 45 minutes to an hour, Acceptable.
By now it's 5:15 PM. At 6:45 PM, an hour & a half later, still no pizza. I called back & was told they had gotten busy & the pizza was leaving "now". Since I live less than a mile from Maria's, I expected delivery in a short time.
A half hour later, now over two hours from the time I placed my order, I called back & requested to speak to the manger. She told me the pizza had been brought back & the delivery person had knocked on my door twice, & had phoned me. My driveway & entranceway are well lit, with my name & house number on the mailbox, & the number prominent on the house. I sat by the front window from 6: PM on, watching for the delivery. No one ever showed up, nor did I get a phone call.
The manager was apologetic & determined they had my address off by one number. She said she would cancel the charges, & send the pizza back out anyway. A nice jester.
The pizza never did come, but at least I won't be charged for it. I'll chalk this incident up to "lessons learned", & go back to ordering my take-out from NY, NY Pizza. Never had a problem with them.
