I had the crossaint chicken for lunch, it was very tasty, and my husband had a panini with basil flavorings, I don't remeber the name, but that was good too. As far portion sizes...I think that they are alright, they are not "huge" as the other person describes them to be. The salad was served in a little flower cup, probably about 4-5 oz size, so it was small, but it was a side, so I guess it's to be expected. It was a lovely experience.

I went with 2 co-workers to Karlene's for lunch last week and I was very disappointed. I ordered a chef salad and the lettuce was brown and wilted, and the presentation was poor - just a few cold cuts and shredded cheese on top of the old lettuce. When the waitress asked how everything was I pointed out the problem with the lettuce, and she just shrugged and said, "Oh, the salad mix?" So, there you have it! Not exactly gourmet. I make a better salad myself, and for much less money! I won't be going back there.

We went to the new location at the landing on Mothers Day abd it was an awful experience. We chose Karlenes because they had advertised on the internet and also on their menuboard outside that moms eat free - an offer which they refused to honor. My mother in law ordered 2 egge over light and they brougt out one burnt dry scrammbled egg. I had ordered soup which the waitress forgot about and when I reminded her she brought me a cold cup of soup after my entree had arrived. I sent it back but she still tryed to charge us for it. Once we were served the waitress never came back to see how we were doing. My chicken paninni was dry and only had a few small pieces of chicken in it. I was also very hot in the restaurant. An overall bad experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND KARLENE'S DELI at the Landing, and I will not return to either of their locations.

Went with a friend for lunch and we were both overwhelmed with the size of the servings. I had the Grilled Spinach and Hummus wrap with the homemade deli chips. It was served on a spinach wrap with lots of fresh baby spinach, tasty hummus melty pepper jack cheese and onions. I could only finish half and took the other half home for the next day's lunch. The deli chips were fabulous--potato chips are my weakness. My friend had the Tabouli wrap with salad. She also could only finish half, especially after eating the nicely sized side salad with dressing on the side. Neither of us had room for any of the tempting desserts. The prices were a little high but so was the quality.

I got a Turkey Fresno Panini style sandwich from there. The "Panini Sandwich" consisted of 2 thin slices of processed turkey (not fresh), smothered in a white cream sauce. The sandwich bread was spongy and falling apart.

The best way to describe the bread would be: the Garlic Toast from Sony's BBQ, submerged in melted butter, then served on a sandwich. Horrible Horrible sandwich.

Not worth 9 dollars... Go to Panera, or other authentic Jacksonville deli and get a REAL "Panini" sandwich.

I must add that the 2 ladies behind the counter were quite upbeat and friendly. The dining room was clean and had the atmosphere of a mom and pop-themed deli (as they probably intended) other than that, I would have to say, dont waste your time or money.
