86 Michael Mills!
We came to celebrate my grandfather’s 87th birthday (his first one after his wife of 62 years passed) and Father’s Day. He requested Trent’s as the food is always good. However, the service this time was awful. Michael was very condescending, disrespectful, and just downright rude. The restaurant was not busy nor on a wait on Saturday, June 17 at 2 pm. Since they do not take reservations, my mom made a curiosity call the day before letting them know a party of 14 would be showing up. Due to prior engagements, my family of 4 was going to show up late, we had no plans to eat just celebrate my grandfather. I was told by a family member that they were cranky that our party was now a party of 10 and when the rest (my family) would show up we would have to be placed on a wait and sat throughout the restaurant. My family did show up and walk to where our party was and sat at a nearby table but was quickly told if they need the table we must get up. Remind you we requested 14 – so there should have been plenty of spots for us anyways and not on a wait. Asking for refills seemed to be such a burden – everything needed to be asked for more tea, more water, and boxes. Nothing was anticipated, instead of bringing out pitchers of water and tea to refill he would only bring out what was requested. One uncle asked for 2 spoons, and instead of a sure – “Sit down, I heard you, I will get them.” Is what we got. My mom brought her own cake, knife, candles, plates, and spoons. Before we could finish the cake and open the cards Michael was at the table asking “We’re ready to cash out?” I replied, “No, we haven’t finished our cake or open cards.” (Mind you half of the table were servers once in their life – so we are not going to camp out and keep him from turning his table.) Next thing Deena the manager was walking toward the table but my grandfather stopped her and said “Thank you, God bless. The food was good.” Her response was “ok” and proceeds to say “We are not going to disrespect her server.” We all explained how we haven’t enjoyed our time, felt rushed, and how rude Michael was. My uncle was so upset with the whole thing we walked out and they yelled for the cops to be called for not paying the bill – he wasn’t paying anyways. The bill got paid and the whole family stood outside while my grandfather opened and read his birthday and Father’s Day cards.
