The WHITEWAY restaurant is the best. Nothing compares to the food in this institution. For 25 years, I have had the opportunity to delight in their breakfast and lunches. It truly is a family owned and operated for decades by a truly wonderful family-- the SALEMS. Sam the patriarch of the family knows everybody and even knows what they most likely will order. His wife Hanan and his sister Anne make the tastiest breakfasts and lunches in a Jacksonville . They make a breakfast scramble ( goulash) that we drive in from the beach to savor. The WHITEWAY is truly loved by their patrons. The physicians from St. Vincents enjoy a delicious lunch and a break from the hospital- sandwiches are named after Drs. Joel Stone, Joe Millan , and Berk. A host of other named specials include Ann Beard, Amanda special - after their beautiful daughter and many more. Just close your eyes and pick a sandwich and enjoy. Burgers are made only on WEDNESDAY and are outstanding-- so is the tabouli. The SALEMS are loved by the JACKSONVILLE community and it truly is a hub for people to catch up and talk whether planned or spontaneous. The very respected - Mr. and Mrs. Corrigan - are regulars. On a good day - we will visit at breakfast and lunch. Father Tony Palazzolo - after saying mass on TUESDAY - blesses the WHITEWAY with his sunglasses on. It is a wonderful place- thank you to the Salem family.
