We went to this deli twice within a month and the service was absolutely abhorrent. It was always the same rude woman behind the counter - and she tried to raise the prices when checking out at the cash register. Her attitude is scalding; and she will actually raise her voice at you when she is the one who doesn't understand what you are saying. I can't believe I had to, at one point, verbally go to war with this aggressive woman when I was asking about Veal Liverwurst. On our first visit, when I said "Thank you kindly" she yelled at me by saying "KATRINA!! IT'S KATRINA!! Not Kimly!" (I believe that was her name.) On the second visit, she tried to raise the prices at the cash register that were clearly marked on the meat cases. When I caught her, she made excuses by saying "Oh, the Beef Bologna is brand new" and she made up other nonsense. Rude. And this deli food is stuff you can find at Whole Foods. WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK. I am going to share this on every platform I can find. (**The Old Heidelberg Deli is owned and managed by A DIFFERENT OWNER than the Old Heidelberg Restaurant. If you want a great German experience, go to The Old Heidleberg Restaurant NOT THIS DELI.***)
